Author Ray Stone

I’m Ray Stone, an accomplished author with a variety of published works to my name. Born just outside London in 1946, I grew up in post war Britain during a period of depression and ration books, bombed out housing and BBC radio. At school I won a writing competition at the age of eleven and later in my teens went on to widen my interest in the arts by having no fewer than four self-developed monochrome photos hung in the ESSEX Worldwide Salon of Photography competition in my home town of Southend on Sea. At the age of eighteen I began writing poetry and lyrics whilst studying at college. Two years later I was working in theatre as a technician and worked with many orchestras and artists. I also worked on local shows such as My Fair Lady, Camelot and West Side Story. My poetry won me first place in 1998 in an international internet poetry competition with ‘An Angry Silence.’ Moving to Colchester in the same year I wrote a full page article about the historical significance of the locale and was published with a by-line in the local press. Whilst writing my first novel I returned to writing lyrics and teamed up with a local composer. Together we produced and recorded five blues numbers. I also published a short poetry and lyric book entitled Life over a cup of Tea. My novel, THE TROJAN TOWERS, was published in 2005. A second political thriller, ISIAS SECRET, the first in a trilogy of Enda Osin mystery novels, was published in 2013. The second in the trilogy, TWISTED WIRE, will be released shortly. The last thriller in the trilogy, GLASSFROGS and CHAMELLIONS, is due to be published in early 2015. All books are available through Amazon and other leading outlets and starting with Isias Secret, I am having my works made into AUDIO at ACX.  My favourite authors are Charles Dickens, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, Neville Shute, Alistair Maclean, C.S.Forrester, Len Deighton, Daniel Silva, Ernest Hemingway - and the list goes on. I have lived in and around Londons colourful EastEnd and the café sets of Westminster and Kensington. Rubbing shoulders with the rich and famous-and infamous I have acquired a unique insight into the lives of both criminal and upper classes that give my works a believable realism. I moved to the USA in 2003 and married. I have since retired from a successful landscape design business and now live on Malta with my wife and fellow author, Mrellan Harahan. I am now the serial manager for The Story Mint, a unique New Zealand publishing company that encourages and teaches new writers the art of literary creativity . My ambition is to publish several books and appear on a TV chat show. I would love to meet novalists Daniel Silva, Michael Connelly, and Dan Brown.I would also like to meet Julia Roberts but I guess I will have to wait until I am rich and famous.
